GOLF COURSE IRRIGATION
Vietnam Irrigation & Construction combines traditional design values while keeping a keen eye on the future of the game. Golf should be a fun, challenging experience for all levels of skill.
Luke and Dan first met at Trade school in March 1993. Both were studying Turfgrass Management. They worked together later that decade at Victoria Golf Club (Melbourne, Australia) where Luke was the Assistant Golf Course Manager and Dan held the foreman position. Both were keen golfers, Dan achieving some amateur success winning a Club Championship at Rich River Golf Club and playing pennant golf with Latrobe Golf Club.
It was early in the 2000’s when Luke discovered his passion for irrigation and started his own business – Superior Green. Over the next 20 years Luke turned this business into the leading Golf Course Irrigation business in Australia. Utilising his knowledge of Turf Management and golf course maintenance he was able to offer a level of knowledge beyond what his competitors could.
Dan chased his dream of becoming a golf course superintendent which lead to roles at Barnbougle Dunes (Tasmania Australia), Royal Queensland Golf Club (QLD, Australia), Blue Canyon Country Club (Thailand) , 27 Club (China) and Danang Golf Club (Vietnam). Before moving into golf course construction and project management in Vietnam with the building of Hoiana Shores Golf Club. This change provided a new challenge which Dan relished and reivigorated his love for golf course construction and design.
Through all of this, his friendship with Luke continued, staying in touch regularly talking shop and comparing knowledge whenever time allowed. When Dan moved back to Australia after 10 years working in South East Asia Luke and Dan decided to join forces to create Vietnam Irrigation & Construction (VIC).

HOW WE WORK
STEP 01.
Setting Objectives.
Every project is unique. VIC places a premium on understanding the individual needs of not only the site, but also endeavours to understand the desired outcome for the developer engaging in open and clear dialogue. We ensure that the process of design and construction is transparent and the strategic plan for each venue is established as quickly as possible. Our aim is always based around designing quality golf courses whilst remaining sympathetic to each individual plot of land.
STEP 02.
Site Assessments.
Once a desired outcome is understood, the conducting of site assessments is an important part in establishing the base knowledge of each site. Topographical analysis, Geological Survey and Environmental Investigation provide critical information around the design strategy and subsequent construction scale. VIC takes pride in understanding the project requirements intimately and works to a ‘boots on the ground’ philosophy to ensure a thorough understanding of the project from start to finish.
STEP 03.
Solutions.
VIC through years of experience in the golf industry, have developed a deep appreciation for recognising quality design which can take place over a broad spectrum of suitable locations. Once a comprehensive site assessment has taken place and the limitations of the venue have been established, VIC strategically develops solutions to ensure that the project is streamlined toward the best outcome achievable. Adaptability and a focus on providing solutions are both traits that we pride ourselves on in an endeavour to deliver and promote high quality golf design work.
STEP 04.
Plan to Proceed.
Once the best course of action has been established, we aim to streamline a strategy that ensures the design intent is optimised in the final product. Our dedication to the traditions of the game and desire to produce high quality work drives us to seek excellence in every part of the design and construction process.
STEP 05.
Managing The Design/Build Process.
Depending on the extent of our involvement in the project, VIC can project manage the entire build or be involved in a consulting capacity.
Throughout the design/build process, VIC has always prided itself on being strong communicators. Whether it be the client, project manager, construction contractor, sub contractors or labor. VIC takes seriously the values of keeping all lines of communication open.
Communication is one of the key ingredients in keeping the client and everyone else involved in our projects working together to produce the highest quality workmanship.
